Linda Shannon, artist and owner of LS Fine Arts, wants her paintings and business to give glory to God. She loves the true God and his son the Lord Jesus Christ and her paintings are worship. A few paintings include calligraphy of Bible verses with an emphasis on the Good News. The traditional hardworking lifestyle of the farmer and the many parables that Jesus taught about farming, are visualized in the farm scenes she paints with watercolors. Linda also paints acrylic abstracts using resists and flow agents to create effects of water and nature, some based on her experiences sailing with her family.
Linda Shannon has been an artist her whole life, selling and giving her art to family and friends. The artist was a graphic artist for twenty years working in print shops, magazines and newspapers. Her dream though has always been to have her own art business. So, on January 1, 2016, she officially started LS Fine Arts.
2019 has three of Linda Shannon’s watercolor paintings in “Watercolors 2019” show in St. Charles, IL. On April 7, 2019, she was an invited visual artist to demonstrate her painting techniques at the “Kaneland Community Fine Art Festival”. On August 3rd to September 22, the artist had art in “The Sky’s the Limit … and Everything is Possible”, in a gallery in Park Forest, IL. For the rest of the year, she had many shows and fairs in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Georgia.
Linda Shannon grew up in Port Washington, Wisconsin and now resides in Monticello, Wisconsin. She grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan. Her father and mother were avid sailors, so the artist grew up sailing and cruising the Great Lakes. Also, her family roots are in Argyle, Wisconsin, very close to where she lives. Some of her ancestors were Norwegian immigrants that pioneered farms in that area.
